STEVE LORENZ - Managing Partner
Steve Lorenz is the Managing Partner of The Greenwich Group International’s Capital Markets and Investment Banking New York team. He joined Greenwich in early 2016. Steve has over 35 years of commercial real estate experience.
Prior to joining The Greenwich Group, Steve was the President and Founder of LorCap, Inc, a commercial real estate advisory firm that raises equity and places debt on behalf of owner-operators of commercial real estate, while also acting as a principle in transactions. Notably, Steve was a General Partner on the $30MM acquisition of $154MM of book-value assets from the publicly traded company BlueGreen; a General Partner in the acquisition of two GSA Buildings valued at approximately $75MM; and, General Partner in the re-development of a Brooklyn multifamily property sold to the Carlyle Group. Steve is currently creating programmatic, platform. joint-ventures with various in-market specialty groups including multifamily developers, owners and operators throughout the country.
Steve was the Head of the CRE Capital Markets desks for PNC / National City Bank Investments located in Stamford, CT for several years where he ran CMBS production; and, helped lead the efforts in the bank’s CRE Distressed Assets group. Prior to this he was at Fortis Investments where he was charged with buying CRE structured products for inclusion into CDO’s.
Mr. Lorenz was at Hypobank (a.k.a. HVB Real Estate International) for 8 years where he was a credit manager for 2 years and then a relationship manager for 6 years. He worked for Citibank from 1991 to 1995 where he focused on CRE workouts, restructurings, asset management and asset sales. Additionally, Mr. Lorenz worked for the Trammel Crow Company in the late 1980s in Washington D.C. Mr. Lorenz has an MBA from Columbia Business School (Class ’91) and graduated from Hamilton College in 1986.
